Dr. Jainee Shah holds a PhD in English Literature, her broad research area being humanist perspectives in African American literature. She joined Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Open University, Ahmedabad, Gujarat; in 2018 as an Assistant Professor in Department of English. Prior to this, she has had 05 years of experience in teaching Communication Skills and Contributor Personality Development to the students of Graduate and Post Graduate level at L. D. College of Engineering, affiliated to Gujarat Technological University.
Her present position at Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Open University is that of an Assistant Professor; apart from the enriching experience of teaching in an Open and Distance Learning University; she has had some excellent opportunities to work as an Academic and Extension Coordinator to Vice Chancellor’s Office at Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Open University. She is the Coordinator of courses such as ‘Indian Poetics’, ‘India’s National Security’ for launching them in Open and Distance Learning mode. Content writing for the University’s media presence is also one of her skills. Her research publications consist of seven papers in national/international journals and presented research papers at national/international conferences. She has authored five books on various subjects pertaining to African American Literature. Her academic interests are in Women’s Writing, African American Literature, and Indian English Literature. Her penchant for imparting knowledge is a valuable asset for guiding young and budding girls to follow their dreams and achieve success.
