Dr Emily Gaynor Dick-Forde

Dr Dick-Forde is the Manager Special Initiatives (focus on climate change projects) in the Office of the Principal and Vice Chancellor and Chair of the Research Ethics Committee at The University of the West Indies (The UWI) Open Campus. Dr Dick-Forde previously served as a Government Senator and Minister of Planning, Housing and the Environment in the Government of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago (2007-2010). Dr Dick-Forde is an Accounting academic with over 25 years’ experience in this field.

Emily is a Certified Professional Accountant with CPA Canada and a Fellow of the Society (FCPA and FCMA) with a PhD in Accounting (Corporate Social and Environmental Reporting) from the University of Dundee, Scotland, an MPhil Finance from the University of Cambridge England and a BSc Accounting (First Class Honours) The UWI, Barbados. Emily is a scholarship winner with the Association of Commonwealth Universities, the Cambridge Commonwealth Trust and the University of Dundee International Students’ Scholarship.

Emily has a passion to advance responsible leadership and good governance and to support the achievement of the UN Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDGs) in institutions, especially in the finance sector and among finance professionals. Emily welcomes opportunities to add value to others as they find their purpose, excel in their chosen fields, being equipped to help build a just and fair society for all.
