Dr Betty Ogange

Betty Ogange works with the Commonwealth of Learning as Education Specialist responsible for the Teacher Education initiative. Her role is to provide domain expertise to ministries, teacher education institutions and other stakeholders in Commonwealth Member States on ODL and technology-enabled learning, towards quality teacher training and professional development. Betty has been at the forefront in the development of COL’s ‘Teacher Futures’ an innovative model for school-based teacher development currently under implementation in a number of countries in Africa, Caribbean and the Asia-Pacific regions.

Prior to joining COL in June 2017, Betty was the founder Director of the eCampus of Maseno University in Kenya, a position she held for a period of 7 years. She is author of many publications in eLearning, open and distance learning, pedagogy and teacher education. Betty holds a BA and PGDE (Egerton, Kenya), MSc (Sunderland, UK), MA (Lancaster, UK) and PhD (OU, UK).
