Dr. Awa Shukla is I/c Director of Student Services and subject head of Journalism and Mass Communication at Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Open University, Ahmedabad. She is the chairperson of Women Development Cell at the University; as well as she is chairperson of the committee for Prevention of Sexual Harassment at Workplace. She has the experience of handling the University’s 250+ Study Centres across Gujarat; with intake of 1 lakh plus students; she coordinates all academic & extra-curricular activities related to Students & Study Centres. She has actively coordinated “Tej Trusha”, a 2019 Talent-Hunt event for Students of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Open University across Gujarat; an event which was held for the first time throughout the history of Open Universities of India.
She has chaired many international conferences; and invited for guest lectures at many institutions. She has delivered many talks regarding Women Empowerment and Child Care programs in various villages of Kutch District. She has presented and published around 28 national and international research papers. She has been a part of Orientation, Refresher, Faculty Development Programmes, and Training Programs. Her enthusiasm and dedication for the welfare of students, girls, women and society at large is noteworthy and has resulted in many successful ventures.
